Gun Buying In 2020 Smashes Records, Highest FBI Background Checks In History
1 min read
Gun buyers broke records this year in response to all the fun and uncertainty that 2020 has brought us all. The FBI is reporting both the highest number of background checks in history as well as the highest increase of background checks from year-to-year in over 20 years.
Just in last November, background checks are up 40% compared to November 2019, with over 3.6 million background checks.
Gun retailers are estimating that 40% of their sales in the first four months of the year were to first time gun owners.
Why this year? Choose a reason: politicians threatening to take guns away, rioting and street violence, massive increase in violent crime, radical district attorneys bent on releasing more criminals than confining, and of course, the defund the police movement.
EDITOR’S NOTE: It is unknown if the massive increase in reports of lost guns in boating accidents is related.
