Seg:1– Resistance is FUTILE! When it come to the carbon tax, that’s what Catherine McKenna believes.
She had this to tweet:
"Thanks to the high court, but also the Canadian people, carbon taxes are here to stay. Resistance is, as they say, futile."
— Catherine McKenna 🇨🇦 (@cathmckenna) March 30, 2021
Her certifiably psychotic sentiments deserve an a likewise op-ed, to which she linked.
From The Hamilton Spectator:
There are wonderful times — and they are rare — when a single court ruling can leave everyone a winner. The Supreme Court of Canada’s ringing endorsement of the federal government’s carbon tax is one of these moments. It should be embraced and celebrated for it.
In a 6-3 ruling released Thursday, the nation’s highest court declared Ottawa does, indeed, have the power to impose a minimum price on greenhouse gas emissions across Canada — whether or not the provinces co-operate with it. Because this hotly debated policy is the driving force behind Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s efforts to combat climate change, the decision represents a major political victory for his government.
What’s the premise?
All evil polluters and their earth destroying ways will decimate the atmosphere, causing exponential heating of the planet. It doesn’t matter what the individual province’s think. Ottawa will do the thinking for them, and ram this horrific tax down their throats.
Resistance is FUTILE! Put your seatbelts on. Mike provides excellent analysis and powerful commentary on this shameful state of affairs.
Seg:2– Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario are teaming up against Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.
Alberta Energy Minister Sonja Savage, along with her counterparts in Saskatchewan and Ontario, issued a warning to a House of Commons committee of the knock on effects of an Enbridge 5 shutdown. Both sides of the 49th will suffer. In Sixty five years of operation there haven’t been any incidents with the pipeline, but that matters none to Gretch. She’s zeroed in on preventing the first. To hell with friendship between the U.S. and Canada. Gretchen’s got to save the planet.
Enjoy Mike’s commentary on this story, which could get quite ugly.
The crown has withdrawn charges against a Collingwood, Ontario man who shot and killed two masked men who invaded his home. Cameron Gardner and his girlfriend were watching movies at their townhouse in Collingwood, when their door was kicked in by three masked men. A terrifying situation indeed. Gardner and his girlfriend sat on the couch, and the men took turns guarding them while searching the house for valuables. Unbeknownst to the invaders, there was a security camera system at Gardner’s residence linked to an app on his 19 year old son’s phone. After seeing what was going on, his son made a beeline to the residence. What happened next makes for quite the crescendo.
Listen as Mike lays out all the details of this harrowing incident.
