Riverside, CA – On Friday morning near Western Coachella Valley, there was a deputy involved shooting that shutdown all westbound lanes of Interstate 10 as law enforcement investigated the situation.

Around 8:45 am a call was placed to 911 stating that a man was throwing rocks at vehicles on White Water Canyon Rd. A Riverside County deputy arrived at the scene to find the man smashing parked car windows using a tire iron. The deputy ordered the suspect to drop the tire iron, but the suspect refused.

At that point the suspect started walking towards Interstate 10. The deputy got into his vehicle and stopped traffic on the Interstate. The deputy continued to ask the suspect to drop the tire iron and the suspect refused and then proceeded to come after the deputy with the object.
