Delmar, Delaware – A Delmar Police Officer who was found unconscious is in critical condition after responding to a fight call alone early Sunday morning.
According to Delaware State Police, the incident occurred shortly after 5 am on Sunday morning in the Yorkshire Estates Community. A Delmar Police Officer responded to the scene and shortly after the officer stopped responding to radio transmissions. Other officers went out to the scene and found the responding officer unconscious and severely injured.
The officer was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and appears to have suffered a traumatic brain injury. The officer has been identified as Corporal Keith Heacook, who is a 22-year-veteran.

Keith is fighting for his life right now and he needs your prayers along with the elderly couple who were also injured. Across the street from where the officer was found, police found an elderly couple severely injured in what appears to be a separate but related assault. The elderly couple was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
Police have taken multiple suspects into custody. No information about the suspects has been released at this time.
