The self-proclaimed Marxist and co-founder of Black Lives Matter said Thursday she’s resigning as executive director after scandals about her real estate purchases and the finances of BLM.

Patrisse Cullors, who has ran the BLM Global Network Foundation for almost six years, will leave the foundation on Friday.

Her departure from BLM comes after scrutiny over Cullors’ wealth and finances, including allegedly purchasing over $3 million in real estate.

Cullors denies she is leaving due to the scandals. “Those were right-wing attacks that tried to discredit my character, and I don’t operate off of what the right thinks about me,” Cullors said.
