According to Dr. Fauci and FDA official Dr. Peter Marks at least 40 percent of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Food and Drug Administration employees are refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The information came out during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee Hearing that was held on Tuesday. During the hearing which was being held to discuss efforts to combat the pandemic, Representative Richard Burr questioned Fauci, Marks, and CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky what percentage of their employees were vaccinated. During the meeting both Fauci and Marks estimated that more than half of their employees had gotten the vaccine while Walensky only stated that they were doing what they could to encourage employees to get vaccinated.

“We’ve been doing town halls and education seminars. Our staff have the option to report their vaccination status, but as you understand, the federal government is not requiring it so we do not know,” – Dr. Rochelle Walensky

Despite FDA, NIAID, and CDC employees being among the first groups to be offered the vaccine they don’t appear to have all jumped at the opportunity to be vaccinated. The knowledge that 40 percent of employees have refused to be vaccinated comes at the same time that the CDC announces that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks or practice social distancing.

On Thursday Biden issued an ultimatum to the American people stating get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do. Interestingly the Biden Administration can’t seem to get their own employees to agree to get the vaccine. This also becomes problematic for an Administration that is pushing the concept of vaccine passports in the private sector that would require people to show proof of vaccination in order to be able to travel or attend sporting events, go to concerts, work or participate in every day life in today’s society.
