Eden, TX. – Two Concho County Sheriff’s deputies were shot and killed Monday night after a pursuit and standoff.
Authorities say the deputies were shot and killed after the suspect led them on a short pursuit and then barricaded himself inside a building. This led to a standoff that resulted in the two deputies being shot and killed. A third person was hurt and taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. Neither the deputies or the third victim have yet been identified.
The suspect, 28-year-old Jeffrey Nicholas, was taken into custody and booked into jail charged with two counts of capital murder of a peace officer. He is being held on a $4 million bond.
This is a developing story with limited information, check back for updates. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the deputies’ families, department, and community.
