Escambia County, FL – Escambia County police released surveillance footage of an incident where a Florida woman fatally shot a man who broke into her home armed with a knife threatening to harm the mother of his children.

On Tuesday the suspect kicked down the front door and made his way into the home screaming. After he made his way inside the home he grabbed a knife threatening to harm the mother of his children. The suspect continued to search various rooms throughout the home. The residents of the home were hiding in a bedroom when the man confronted a woman inside the room. A second woman shot the man twice. The man, who’s name has not been released, died on scene.

“The suspect had an active domestic violence injunction on him, and so, he wasn’t supposed to be there, and he was also reportedly on his way to anger management treatment,” – Sheriff Chip Simmons
