The San Antonio Police Department released surveillance video of a fatal police shooting at the San Antonio International Airport in April.

On April 15, 46-year-old Joe Gomez was seen driving the wrong way in the airport terminal. In the video, Gomez is seen exiting his vehicle armed with a handgun and opening fire in the direction of the officer and bystanders.
San Antonio Park Police Officer John Maines can be seen walking toward Gomez’s vehicle when it pulls up. When Gomez began shooting, he returned fire and struck the suspect twice. Just after Gomez was shot, he turned the gun on himself, which was redacted from the video.
Gomez was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. There were no other injuries.
