WASHINGTON, DC – President Joe Biden has invited several mayors of big cities to the White House to discuss the disturbingly heavy rise in crime.

Monday’s meeting was the second of such meetings in three weeks.

The mainstream media has reported several times that Biden has a “strong backing for law enforcement,” but the anti-police rhetoric that’s spewed from his mouth and fingertips via social media suggests otherwise. Nevertheless, Democratic leaders have said that they worry the high rise in crime will hurt their chances of keeping the majority in Congress.

Another huge concern with the rising crime, though it hasn’t been discussed as much as the political consequences, is the quality of life taking a major plummet as shootings, robberies, and other violent crimes continue to spike.

Following Monday’s meeting, Biden said, “We know when we utilize trusted community members and encourage more community policing, we can intervene before the violence erupts.” The violence, as the President must be aware, erupted long ago, increasing drastically following the death of George Floyd while in police custody when he issued many statements condemning police officers in cases where they were ruled justified for their actions.

Despite his previous statements, Biden is now forcefully advocating against the “defund the police” movement. His struggles to get the rest of his party on board are fueled by time he spent bashing the police and pushing the agenda that policing as an institution is racist.

Now, the media is assisting him in attempting to gain support of critics by twisting the events and statements of the past year-plus, including his stance on police reform.

Reports have said that part of the reason for the meetings with Democratic big city mayors overrun with crime and gun violence was to encourage them to use the federal COVID-19 relief money to fight the violence. It’s also said that he’s set up “strike forces” to combat illegal gun sales in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC. The results of this are unclear, as are their methods or what agencies make up the forces.

In June, Biden said, “No, I don’t support defunding the police. I support conditioning federal aid to police based on whether or not they meet certain basic standards of decency and honorableness.”
