Brazen DC Shooting Sends Citizens Running As Crime Surges In The Nation’s Capitol

Washington D.C. – Surveillance footage captured the incident of shots fired on Thursday night on a street popular for its restaurants and bars.

Two people were wounded during the incident.

Metropolitan Police responded to a report of shots fired around 8:20 pm near the intersection of 14th and Riggs Street. When they arrived on the scene they found at least two adult males who had sustained non life threatening gunshot wounds. One man was shot in the chest and the other man was shot in the arm. Both men were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The surveillance footage shows two people running from the scene and then jumping into a black Honda Civic. They are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding the suspects. The incident is currently being investigated.

Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee was at the scene and held a late night press conference. He informed the public that more than one shot was fired and that one of the individuals who was hit is believed to have been the intended target. The other individual shot was an innocent bystander. Police responded to the scene within seconds because they were in the area investigating a previous shooting.
