Recently retired Detroit Police Chief James Craig appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday to slam Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and announce a gubernatorial exploratory committee.


Craig is a long time lawman, starting with the Detroit Police Department in 1977, moving to LAPD for three decades, serving as police chief for both Cincinnati Police Department and Portland Police Department, and finally the Chief of the Detroit Police Department.

“I’ve got to tell you, I’m running,” James Craig told Carlson on Wednesday

“We launched today the Chief James Craig For Governor Exploratory Committee,” Craig said. “We know what happened last year when other cities were burning – Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago – Detroit did not burn.”

“I can’t help but think about the small businesses who are suffering through the pandemic — and now we want to give … handouts and businesses cant even hire employees,” Craig said. “I’ve got to tell you – I’m running, because when I look at politicians across the country – when I look at Governor Whitmer, she follows different rules – she just does.

During the interview Tucker Carlson joked that Craig will be soon be called a “white supremacist” by the left, “bring it,” Craig replied. “I’m ready for it.”
