A new study that was released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is being used to instill fear in Americans as a way to urge them to get the vaccine.
The study claims that Los Angeles residents who are unvaccinated are 5x more likely to get Covid-19 and 29x more likely to be hospitalized as opposed to those who are vaccinated.
Yahoo Finance put out the study with the headline, “Unvaccinated LA residents were 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19: CDC study.” However the headline is a little misleading. The study defines unvaccinated individuals to include anyone who has received the first dose of the vaccine within 14 days of contracting the virus. So anyone who gets sick, is hospitalized or dies is counted as unvaccinated.
The study uses different requirements to define people as vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and unvaccinated.
Due to the way the CDC has decided to count unvaccinated individuals it does not provide an accurate representation of how many vaccinated versus unvaccinated individuals were hospitalized in Los Angeles County during the time period when the study was conducted.
However the data is still being used as a means to coerce people into getting the vaccine and the justification to require vaccine mandates and passports.
