Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has finally broken his silence to address rumors that he is planning to run for president in 2024 amidst reports that former President Donald Trump is stepping up his efforts to run again.

Fans of DeSantis will be disappointed to see that the bomb that he dropped about a potential 2024 run for himself is that reports that he is planning to throw his hat in the race are “nonsense.”

“All the speculation about me is purely manufactured,” DeSantis said during a press conference on Tuesday, according to Daily Mail. “I just do my job. You know, we work hard. Obviously, our state has led on a lot of things, including this, and now other states are copying us. But that’s what it’s really all about, just helping folks here.”

“I hear all this stuff, and honestly, it’s nonsense. So, you know, I really don’t know what to say to those rumors,” he added.

This comes one week after former campaign spokesman Jason Miller said that a presidential run by Trump in 2024 is a near certainty.

“I would say somewhere between 99 and 100 percent. I think he is definitely running in 2024,” Miller said. “I had a good conversation with him last night. I’m going to go see him in another couple of days here.”

Trump has even indicated in the past that he would consider DeSantis as a running mate.

“I would certainly consider Ron,” Trump told Fox Business host Stuart Varney back in June. “I was at the beginning of Ron, I was the first one to endorse him when he came out as a congressman that a lot of people didn’t know, and my endorsement helped him tremendously, and I know him very well. He’s a great guy.”

“We have other great people,” he said. “I mean, you look at some of … the Republican people that have done a great job with states, and you don’t see that with the Democrats. I mean, they kept their states closed and locked down, and the schools are closed. It’s just absolutely outrageous how they get away with it.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) also said earlier this month that he is expecting Trump to run.

“I think he’s gonna run,” Jordan said, according to the Des Moines Register. “I want him to run. He’s proven he can take the heat. We’re at a moment now where you’ve got to have someone who’s willing to fight, willing to stand up to all the abuses.”

We as a nation desperately need someone like Trump or DeSantis in the White House right now. It will certainly be interesting to see if Trump moves forward with his plans to run for president again and if DeSantis changes his mind about doing so as 2024 gets closer.
