With thousands of illegal immigrants flooding the border, even President Joe Biden apparently can’t run away from this disaster. On Thursday, to the shock of reporters and news outlets, the White House announced that Biden would be taking action at the Southern border. But before Governor Greg Abbott can finally relax, it should be noted that President Biden’s action isn’t directly helping the situation as he will only ban the use of horses while securing the border.

Citing images that showed border patrol agents riding horses while they help secure the border and navigate the thousands of immigrants, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said, “[W]e will no longer be using horses in Del Rio.” And although President Biden hasn’t personally condemned the images, Psaki defended him, saying, “His actions make clear how horrible and horrific he thinks these things are.”

Biden’s ban on the use of horses also comes after Representative Rashida Tlaib blasted the border patrol on social media. She tweeted, “Cracking a f**king whip on Haitians fleeing hardship shows you that this system simply can’t be reformed.”

Tlaib didn’t stop there as she voiced her anger during a press conference recently. “I’m pissed. And I’m not just unhappy with the cowboys who were running down Haitians and using their reins to whip them. I’m unhappy with the administration. We are following the Trump policy.”

The NAACP also tweeted the image and a picture depicting a slave being beaten by a man on a horse.

While news outlets jump on the story, Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas rejected the narrative that immigrants were being mistreated and has started an investigation into the matter.

As for the person in charge of the Southern border, Vice President Kamala Harris, she appeared to side with Biden and her Democratic party, saying, “I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there. But human beings should never be treated that way. I’m deeply troubled about it.”
