MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Minneapolis this weekend saw seven separate shootings within a 26-hour period, leaving 11 injured.
The incidents occurred between early Saturday and Sunday mornings, and three of those injured were left in critical condition.
The first critical injury shooting incident occurred around 6:40 pm Saturday when police responded to ShotSpotter activation. That was near 23rd Avenue North and Bryant Avenue North, and police found nothing on scene at that time. However, several minutes later, police received another call of a woman with a gunshot arriving at North Memorial Health Hospital, and she was in critical condition.
The second critical injury shooting was at about 9:20 pm when officers responded to a call reporting the sound of gunshots near 11th Avenue and Second Street South. Police found a man shot in critical condition. They believe the man was carjacked and the suspect stole his vehicle.

The last known critical injury shooting during that time period was at about 1:50 am Sunday near Seventh Street and First Avenue North. There are limited details on that incident, but three shooting victims were found there near Target Center- two men and a woman. One of those men was in critical condition.
Another incident involved a robbery at gunpoint around 12:50 am Sunday. And another ShotSpotter incident occurred around 1:30 am near 27th Avenue South and 29th Street East, where a man was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another shooting appeared to have occurred following a collision around 3:00 am on Sunday, where the drivers of both vehicles appeared to have shot each other.

The other incidents appear to be police responding to other calls where gunshots were heard in the area.
Only two suspects from one incident have been reported as in custody, although there is no information available on them as of yet. Two guns were reportedly recovered from that incident.
