U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy spoke out on Tuesday to warn against “misleading memes” and “cherry-picked stats” in the Biden regime’s latest efforts to stamp out COVID-19 vaccine “misinformation.”
“With the authorization of COVID-19 vaccines for children 5 to 11 years old, it is more important than ever that families have access to accurate, science-based information. Health misinformation is spreading fast and far online and throughout our communities,” Murthy said in a statement obtained by The Gateway Pundit.
“The good news is that we all have the power to help stop the spread of health misinformation during this pandemic and beyond,” he added. “That’s where this toolkit comes in – to provide Americans with resources to help limit and reduce this threat to public health.”
The new “toolkit” that Murthy was referring to tells Americans not to share information about the COVID-19 vaccines until they check with their overlords at the CDC first. The toolkit states that one should ask oneself the following questions before posting vaccine information:
- Did you check with the CDC or local public health department to see whether there is any information about the claim being made?
- Did you ask a credible health care professional such as your doctor or nurse if they have any additional information?
- Did you type the claim into a search engine to see if it has been verified by a credible source?
- Did you look at the “About Us” page on the website to see if you can trust the source?
“If you’re not sure, don’t share,” the toolkit adds.
Earlier this week, Murthy defended Biden’s vaccine mandates.
“The president and the administration wouldn’t have put these requirements in place if they didn’t think that they were appropriate and necessary, and the administration is certainly prepared to defend them,” he told ABC News.
“It’s important we take every measure possible to make our workplaces safer,” Murthy added. “It’s good for people’s health, it’s good for the economy, and that’s why these requirements make so much sense.”
“I’m cautiously optimistic about where we are…But if COVID has taught us anything, it's that we can’t take our foot off the accelerator until we’re at the finish line," Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy tells @MarthaRaddatz. https://t.co/Db7DwuAZRi pic.twitter.com/06WDSg60vl

Murthy continued to defend vaccine mandates even when questioned about the impact they will have on the economy.
“I hear time and time again, from small businesses, large businesses and workers is that what’s really hurting the economy is actually COVID itself,” Murthy said. “There are times where we recognize that our decisions have a broader effect on people around us. COVID has reminded us of that, and that’s why having these types of requirements in workplaces will be not only helpful, it’s a necessary step to accelerate our pathway out of the pandemic.”
