NEW YORK CITY, NY – A 26-year-old Bronx School of Law teacher was arrested earlier in November after allegedly sending nude photos of himself to several students, some of which were minors, as well as allegedly forcing himself on a female minor inside one of the classrooms.

The arrested teacher was identified as Alexander Guzman, who police say sent nude photos of himself to two 16-year-old female students and an 18-year-old female student through Snapchat. Authorities say that the lewd photos were sent between September 23rd and October 31st.

Police further allege that Guzman forced himself on one of the underage girls whom he’d sent inappropriate photos to as well, claiming that he’d touched the 16-year-old victim inappropriately by shoving his hand down her pants and forcibly kissing her in a classroom.

A statement from the New York City Department of Education confirmed that Guzman has been removed from the school.

“These are deeply disturbing charges and DOE has cooperated with the police department fully and the teacher was immediately removed from the school. The safety of our students is our top priority, and we have stringent protections in place to address any allegations of impropriety.”

Guzman was taken into police custody slightly before 11:00 p.m. on November 5th.

Apparently, Guzman had just started working at the school this past September, which has enraged local parents as some feel that the New York City Department of Education’s screening process is clearly flawed when vetting new applicants.

One local parent interviewed regarding the case mentioned that they, “need to know who they are hiring. At the end of the day, schools need to be safe for our kids.”

As of this writing, there is no information available to suggest that Guzman has faced previous arrests or charges related to any type of sexual offenses against either adults or minors, which are typical areas reviewed in background screenings utilized in fields such as teaching.

Guzman has since been charged with one count each of forcible touching and sexual misconduct, and two counts each of harassment, aggravated harassment, and disseminating indecent material to minors.
