On November 30th, CNN announced that Chris Cuomo was suspended “indefinitely” following reports that he was more personally involved than previously implied regarding the investigation into his former governor brother’s then-growing scandals around sexual harassment.

Earlier in November, we at Red Voice Media reported on just how deeply involved Chris Cuomo was when it came to helping his brother, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, earlier in 2021 when assertions of sexual harassment were becoming too large to ignore any longer.

While Chris Cuomo admitted publicly on CNN this past May that all he did was a little advising here and there for his brother Andrew to help navigate the PR storm, that turned out to be quite the omission. In reality, Chris Cuomo went so far as to tap his media “sources” to look into the women hurling accusations at his brother.

Text message exchanges dating back to March of 2021 showed Chris Cuomo in steady contact with a woman named Melissa DeRosa, who was then-Governor Andrew Cuomo’s top aide, about looking into these women making allegations against his brother and also trying to get details about stories before various outlets would publish them.

The damning details about Chris Cuomo’s exploits to help his brother out were contained within various documents and exhibits held by the New York Attorney General’s office regarding the investigation into Andrew Cuomo’s controversies while in office, which CNN referenced in their statement on suspending Chris Cuomo.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense. The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.

When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules, and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.

However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”
