The current transgender frenzy we’re living through is one of the most insane moments in all human history. Human beings are born male and female. It’s the most obvious thing in the world. Every culture on earth knows this, from the Chinese to the Zulus to the Aztecs to the Australian aborigines.
But in America in 2021, we’ve somehow adopted a mystical religion that believes otherwise. It’s a religion that says there are no fundamental differences between men and women, but at the same time you can know deep inside you’re the “wrong” sex and need to change it via expensive surgery. It’s a religion that says that boys can simply take a few pills and then start competing against women in soccer or volleyball or weightlifting or boxing and it’s all fine and dandy. It’s a religion that shows you Rachel Levine standing there in a dress, and says “this is a woman, one of the most successful women in America, actually.”
In spite of the First Amendment, this religion is rapidly becoming the compulsory faith of American public life. Liberals are absolutely fighting to create a world where it will be illegal to “misgender” someone, where you can be fined for using the “wrong pronouns” to describe one of these medical monstrosities. They will demand that all of society pretend that mentally ill men are women, and mentally troubled teen girls are men. Two thousand years ago, Christians were ordered to make sacrifices to the emperor. Many died when they refused. Today, believing Christians will be ordered to swear allegiance to the god of transgenderism.
But when you try to fight back against this tyranny, don’t expect Republicans to stand by you. Einstein supposedly said that two things in the universe were infinite: The universe and human stupidity, and he wasn’t sure about the universe.
Well, if Einstein were around today, he’d say there are three infinite things: The universe, human stupidity, and Republican willingness to betray their voters.
Earlier this year, Democrats made a push to pass the so-called “Equality Act,” which would impose strict transgenderism ideology throughout American life, nationwide. It didn’t pass. But now a group of Republicans are doing what they can to give Democrats an assist. Twenty-one Republicans are co-sponsoring something they call the “Fairness For All Bill.” It would amend U.S. civil rights law to make “gender identity” a protected class. That means men in women’s bathrooms, nationwide, in private businesses as well as public venues.
One of the big backers is Nancy Mace. She’s a freshman Republican from South Carolina, so you think she might understand the party she’s supposed to lead. But instead she’s as out of touch as Liz Cheney. She said that the January 6 capitol incident “wiped out” everything Trump did in four years. She called the participants of that incident criminals. She even just joined Democrats in making a criminal contempt complaint against Steve Bannon for not testifying before the sham January 6 committee.
Elise Stefanik is another big backer of the bill. No surprise. She’s one of the most liberal Republicans in Congress, but now she’s the number three Republican just because she said the right things about President Trump trying to overturn last year’s election. Does she believe any of that? I think if she did, she’d be a little less liberal on everything that actually matters, like this bill.
Supporters of the bill say it’s a compromise because it protects the conscience rights of a few religious groups. But of course, what it doesn’t protect is the conscience rights of individuals — the millions of individuals who know that transgenderism is an insane fad and a lie pushed by totalitarians to destroy the fundamental building blocks of society itself.
This is what happens when the Republican Party isn’t held to account. This is what happens when people who don’t understand the moment we are living through are allowed to hold office. They think they can strike some “common sense compromise” with people who are the enemies of all human history, all human culture, and all of human civilization. There is no “compromise” in abolishing the difference between men and women. You can only submit to this new religion, or defy it. And right now, twenty-one Republicans are choosing to submit.
Lauren Witzke ran for Senate in Delaware last year and she’s our producer here on this show. She joined the show to discuss.
