It’s that time of year again. Thanksgiving is coming in on November 25th and Christmas is right around the proverbial corner.
And while these holidays are of course rife with great times and familial gatherings, there is the caveat that can sometimes crop up during dinner table conversations – topics around politics and the one (or many) relatives who can’t stand former President Donald Trump.
This brings us to the hilarity of Gavin McInnes’ video “How to deal with Trump-hating relatives on Thanksgiving.”
While this classic Rebel News clip featuring Gavin McInnes is now five years old, the spirit of the message is still just as relevant today because – despite it being a year since the 2020 election – chances are there’s someone in everyone’s family that is still fuming about and blaming Trump for everything.
McInnes points out that during the holiday season, conservatives and Trump supporters will inevitably have to face those relatives that want to proclaim that Trump is racist, sexist, and the ilk – affording a funny hypothetical conversation one might have to endure.
“And then it gets to Trump. Now, easy way out of this is to go ‘What exact sentence did he say that you’re mad about?’ And they’ll say something that he didn’t say, and you can just go ‘Eh, he didn’t say that” and quietly move on. Adrenaline control. But then they go ‘Well he said you can just force women to kiss you if you’re rick and they can be fired.’ Well, that’s sexual assault…is this the bus conversation again? The bus conversation from 11 years ago. He was marveling at groupies and what they let you get away with.”
The nine-minute video will serve as some levity in preparing for the awkward conversations coming to a dinner table near you, as well also being a reminder that the left has been bizarrely fixed on hating Trump since he was elected.
