Following the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins that happened on the movie set of “Rust,” Alec Baldwin, who supposedly pulled the trigger, has been rather silent as a lawsuit is already being presented.

While no one is suggesting that Baldwin purposely knew the prop gun was loaded with a live round, there have been numerous reports of the unsafe work conditions on set.

And given that the scene that was being filmed when the accident happened never called for the weapon to be fired – many are now wondering why the pistol was ever discharged in the first place.

Although Baldwin has made it a point to avoid speaking with reporters, he decided to sit down for an interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News.

With the interview set to air on Thursday, a small trailer was released, promoting the event. And while Baldwin might be distraught and torn about what happened under his watch, the actor makes some startling claims about what really happened on set that day.

In the video, which is featured above, Baldwin wildly suggested, “Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled, I didn’t pull the trigger. No, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”

Confused as to how the gun mysteriously fired, Baldwin added, “I have no idea. Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.”

Holding back tears and wearing all black, Baldwin even holds back tears when discussing Hutchins. “She was someone who was loved by everyone who worked with [her] and liked by everyone who worked with [her] and admired. I mean, even now, I find it hard to believe that. It just doesn’t seem real to me.”
