Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) has signed an executive order that bans mandates that force employees to get the COVID-19 jabs.

“No person shall be required by this state, or any city, town or county to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine, but a health care institution licensed pursuant to A.R.S. Title 36, Chapter 4 may require the institution’s employees to be vaccinated,” Ducey said in the order, according to Fox 10 Phoenix.

These orders won’t allow the state of Arizona, or any of its counties and cities, to put COVID-19 shot requirements in place for workers. Health care institutions, however, are exempt from this order.

“The continued spread of COVID-19 and the increase in cases during November 2021 resulted in space and staff constraints in Arizona’s hospitals, with fewer than 8% of intensive care unit (ICU) reported available for several days in November and COVID patients accounting for approximately 40% of all ICU beds in the state,” the order stated.

Will Humble, director of the Arizona Public Health Association, was furious that Ducey would dare sign this order.

“I would say ‘unbelievable’ but it’s totally believable,” he told KPVI.

Arizona House Democrats fired back at Ducey by claiming that he’s making COVID-19 worse.

“Tying the hands of local governments that want to take steps to prevent the spread of #COVID19 just deepens and prolongs the pandemic,” the caucus tweeted after the order was signed.

Ducey also revealed on Thursday that additional funding has been granted to help hospitals in the state with staffing issues. Health System Alliance of Arizona CEO Brittney Kaufmann told 12 News that this money will help hospitals “discharge patients to other facilities creating more capacity in our hospitals and emergency rooms to treat patients.”

“These things come in waves, it seems like this wave is upon us and the state’s going to be a partner with the system,” Ducey said. “I’m confident our policies will meet this moment and we’ll provide hospitals with resources so they can care for the sick.”

Back in September, Ducey spoke out against President Joe Biden’s “dictatorial” vaccine mandates.

“Joe Biden has failed us on COVID. He ran for office on a promise to ‘shut down the virus.’ He has failed on this, much as he has failed on the border crisis and in Afghanistan. So now, President Biden’s plan is to shut down freedom,” he said. “Today marks another egregious big government overreach robbing Arizonans and all Americans of their fundamental rights to make their own decisions about their health and the health of their children.”

“President Biden’s dictatorial approach is wrong, un-American and will do far more harm than good. How many workers will be displaced? How many kids kept out of classrooms? How many businesses fined?” Ducey continued. “The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective tools to prevent the disease, but getting the vaccine is and should be a choice. These mandates are outrageous. They will never stand up in court. We must and will push back.”

Red Voice Media would like to make a point of clarification on why we do not refer to any shot related to COVID-19 as a "vaccine." According to the CDC, the definition of a vaccine necessitates that said vaccine have a lasting effect of at least one year in preventing the contraction of the virus or disease it's intended to fight. Because all of the COVID-19 shots thus far available have barely offered six months of protection, and even then not absolute, Red Voice Media has made the decision hereafter to no longer refer to the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson substances as vaccinations.
