Show host Terrance Bates started by asking Rep. Finchem why he isn’t “satisfied” with the outcome of the Maricopa County audit of the 2020 election that Bates said “didn’t find significant concerns” with respect to election integrity.

Rep. Finchem countered the assertion made by Bates, saying that there were areas of concerns found during the Maricopa County audit, then redirecting to what he’s doing with regard to Pima County.

“Well, actually we found significant discrepancies and evidence that was turned over to the Attorney General’s office. What we have here in Pima County is a different situation. We received an email – we were copied on an email – that was sent to the U.S Department of Justice dealing with alleged votes that were injected into the Pima County system.

So, over the last ten months or so, we’ve been doing a very quiet, but I think fruitful investigation. The other thing that ad hoc hearings are designed to do is give the people a voice so that they can come in front of their legislators and ask questions and try to get answers to things that have caused concern in their mind.”

The Republican state representative added that by holding hearings regarding election integrity, such processes are reaffirming that elections are something that “belong to the people” and not something owned by the government.

“So, the overriding thing that folks have to remember: elections belong to the people, they do not belong to the government. That’s why we’re having an ad hoc hearing, off the campus of the legislature here in Oro Valley, Arizona.”
