Ahead of the circus that was the anniversary event of the Capitol Hill riot held by the Democrats, the YouGov poll decided to see what Americans really thought about the day Vice President Kamala Harris compared to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. Polling a little over 2,000 U.S. adults, the poll revealed that a staggering 76 percent of Americans believed that the so-called insurrection was nothing more than a “protest that went too far.” The poll also showed that 63 percent thought the riot was an attempt to overturn the election, while 55 percent saw it as a clear insurrection.
With the clear majority of those asked saying the Capitol Hill riot was nothing more than that, apparently, CBS News was caught trying to bury the data presented by the YouGov poll by leaving out what the majority of those asked believed. This was on top of the poll, also showing a consensus among both sides of the aisle when it came to what really happened on January 6th. Sixty-nine percent of Democrats, 80 percent of Independents, and 80 percent of Republicans believed that the supposed insurrection was nothing more than a protest.
One year later, Republicans are far more likely to call what happened at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 "patriotism" or "defending freedom" than trying to overthrow the government or an insurrection https://t.co/fOPMWveNyZ pic.twitter.com/s3uKKseb5q

Even when discussing the poll, CBS News tried to gloss over the data, writing, “Descriptions of what happened are also similar to how they were a year ago after it happened. People widely call it a protest that went too far, but how much further becomes more partisan? Most Americans — including most Democrats, but just a fifth of Republicans — call it an insurrection and describe it as an attempt to overturn the election and the government.”
John Nolte of Breitbart News blasted the Democrats for trying to create a crisis that wasn’t there. “For a whole year, the corporate media have been plotting and scheming with the backing of a kangaroo congressional inquiry along with billions and billions of corporate dollars… And still, this narrative has failed entirely. No one cares. Poll after poll after poll after poll backs up the fact that no one freakin’ cares. The American people know what happened on January 6. They know a protest against vote fraud got out of hand when a bunch of idiots turned violent. They know that’s the extent of it and that the people responsible are being punished—end of story.”
