MOLINE, IL – Parents of students at Jane Addams Elementary School recently expressed outrage after news got out of an after-school “Satan Club,” prompting a response from the superintendent. The club was being advertised by way of flyers shared at the school.

Earlier in January, schoolchildren from Jane Addams Elementary School were reportedly invited to attend a new after-school program that started on January 13th, known as “After School Satan.”

Surprisingly, these unsettling after-school programs taking place at elementary schools are not new, as reports dating back as far as 2016 show that Lucien Greaves, cofounder of The Satanic Temple, has been getting the ball rolling on indoctrinating the youth into Satanic practices.

According to The Satanic Temple’s website where they host information about their after-school program’s efforts, the organization conveys in no uncertain terms that their motivation to promote Satanism in schools is in direct response to “Good News Clubs” – which are Christian-themed after-school clubs that The Satanic Temple calls “an insidious organization.”

This disturbing Satanic organization is very self-aware in a sense that they know their organization draws scrutiny – with some questioning just how could such an after-school program exist at an elementary school. Well, The Satanic Temple proudly boasts on their website that the Supreme Court allows them to do so, by way of them identifying as a religious organization.

“Is Satanism in schools legal? Yes,” the website says. “The Supreme Court ruled in 2001 in the case of Good News Club v. Milford Central School that schools operate a ‘limited public forum’ and that, as such, they may not discriminate against religious speech should a religious organization choose to operate an After School Club on their premises.”

Nonetheless, parents at Jane Addams Elementary are reasonably perturbed that flyers had been circulating at school about this Satanic club, prompting a response from Moline-Coal Valley Schools Superintendent Dr. Rachel Savage to clarify the matter.

“I wanted to take a moment and share some additional information regarding the after-school club you may have heard about,” he said. “I know there are many mounting concerns and questions. I hear you and I understand.”

Savage explained that the school nor district has any sort of formal relationship with The Satanic Temple, noting the “facility rental for this after-school activity was not generated by the district and is not affiliated with Jane Addams or the district. It is nothing that involves or impacts the school day.”

However, Savage delved further into the matter, explaining how it was via the rogue exploits of one of the parents at the school who reached out directly to The Satanic Temple to get the ball rolling on an after-school Satan club.

“A parent from within our district reached out to the national after-school satan club, informing them that Jane Addams Elementary School, in Moline, offers a child evangelism fellowship club and asked that they bring their program to that school as well, to offer parents a choice of different viewpoints,” she continued.

In Savage’s response to this fiasco, she highlighted that if the district denied renting the facility to The Satanic Temple, they would get sued and would “not win.”

“To illegally deny their organization (viewpoint) to pay to rent our publicly funded institution, after school hours, subjects the district to a discrimination lawsuit, which we will not win, likely taking thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars away from our teachers, staff, and classrooms.”
