Following his massively successful rally in Florence, Arizona, former President Donald Trump, who apparently doesn’t have a problem drawing an audience, decided to troll MSNBC. On Monday, Trump issued a statement from his super PAC detailing the dismal viewership MSNBC has received and how hosts like Mika Brzezinski, Joy Reid, and Joe Scarborough might soon be out of a job.
Posted on Twitter by spokesperson Liz Harrington, Trump wrote, “Will Morning Joe be canceled? He and Mika’s ratings are very low—they are having an extremely hard time finding an audience to listen to the Fake News they spurn. Losing them would be very sad—hope it doesn’t happen!”
He also added, “On another front, looks like Unjoy Reid, the racist commentator on MSDNC (MSNBC), is toast. Her stupidity is only surpassed by her absolute lack of television persona. She never had it, and never will. The only thing she’s good at is spewing racist hate but obviously, no one is listening!”
It is no surprise that since Trump left the White House, liberal outlets have had a rather difficult time keeping viewers and promoting the Biden administration. It has become such an issue that when Trump released his statement, the panel on Morning Joe decided to read it out to all their viewers.
While the hosts appeared to laugh and joke about the statement, it should be noted that News Cycle Media’s Jon Nicosia tweeted, “Source @ Comcast: ‘Joy Reid will lose her 7p show in the next round of reshuffling at MSNBC.’ – ‘She does not have a show come mid Spring’ – The decision has been made, the only thing left is messaging on the move, which will be ratings.”
In two more follow-up tweets, Nicosia added, “As was the case with Chris Cuomo at CNN, Reid has allies at Comcast, however, she is now viewed as ‘unmanageable’ by many. Also, similar to Cuomo, it appears those allies have found out she has been ‘less than truthful about past incidents’ 2/ (more to come).” The third one stated, “Also, like Cuomo at CNN. Watch for MSNBC/Comcast to defend her right until the announcement.”
