LOS ANGELES, CA – To celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, several officers saved the life of a pilot who had been in a small aircraft crash.
The plane happened to land on a set of train tracks in the Foothill Division. Police responded and worked to pull the pilot out of the plane. Seconds later, a train plows into the abandoned aircraft.
LAPDHQ posted body cam video to social media, saying, “Foothill Division Officers displayed heroism and quick action by saving the life of a pilot who made an emergency landing on the railroad tracks at San Fernando Rd. and Osborne St., just before an oncoming train collided with the aircraft.”
