The Fox News host Sean Hannity used his show on Thursday night to rip into the Barack Obama after the former president announced his initiative to fight what he claims is the spread of “disinformation.”
“What does still nag at me, though, was my failure to fully appreciate at the time just how susceptible we had become to lies and conspiracy theories, despite having spent years being a target of disinformation myself,” Obama said during a speech at Stanford University, according to The Hill.
Obama went on to claim that disinformation in the digital age is impeding democracy.
“You just have to flood a country’s public square with enough raw sewage,” he said. “You just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing, that citizens no longer know what to believe.”
Hannity, however, was not having any of it. He used his monologue on his Fox News show last night to fire back at Obama with everything he has.
“Obama is now on a mission to combat, he says, ‘misinformation and disinformation,’ and this network has the largest reach of any other outlet,” Hannity said. “So, I’m sure that our viewers would love to hear his take on Hunter Biden’s very real laptop and the very real money the Biden family made by selling out the Obama White House.
“And I’m sure they’d love to hear Barack’s take on why the media mob breathlessly pushed Hillary Clinton’s dirty misinformation dossier and the Russia collusion hoax for years,” he continued. “We got it right. They got it wrong. I was right about Obama’s radical associations. He didn’t want to hear it.”
Not stopping there, Hannity later brought up past comments that Obama is known to have made about his former Vice President Joe Biden.
“And while we’re at it, President Obama, why don’t you tell us how you really feel about our current president Joe Biden?” Hannity said. “Because, according to Politico, hardly the vast right wing conspiracy, you encouraged Biden not to run. You didn’t want him to run. Wonder what you knew that maybe other people knew, that maybe you cared more about him than others? I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.”
“Obama once even reportedly said quote, ‘Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to F things up.’ And of course, Obama doesn’t want to answer any of these questions,” he concluded. “That’s because he’s not really interested in battling disinformation, instead as you said today, he wants to reshape your perspective. In other words, he wants all of you to be far-left wing, New Green Deal democratic socialists like him.”
Of course, the former president sees anything that is negative towards him and Democrats as “disinformation,” so his initiative to take that on is nothing short of laughable.
