With the leaked document showing the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, conservative Justices have been targets of threats, protests, and even attacks from the mainstream media. The idea that abortion could become illegal nationwide, which is highly inaccurate and embellished, has captivated liberal activists and Democrats. Recently, Justice Clarence Thomas sat down to discuss the document, what it meant for the Supreme Court, and the backlash he has received not just on this matter but from the moment he was appointed back in 1991.
Speaking about the mainstream media and their attacks on him, Thomas, as can be seen in the video below, admitted, “One of the things I’d say in response to the media is when they talk about the way I did my job, I said I will absolutely leave the court when I do my job as poorly as you do yours. And that was meant as a compliment. Really.”
Now with the media coming under attack for spreading not facts or truth but disinformation and targeted narrative, the Justice couldn’t help but laugh as he hinted at a future he had no idea was possible.
Just one example of the attacks Thomas has received, Representative Hakeem Jeffries, a Democrat, tweeted the Justice after the document was made available. He asked, “A simple question for Justice Clarence Thomas. Why are you such a hater?”
That wasn’t all from the Democrat, as he also attacked the wife of Thomas for not supporting the results of the 2020 presidential election. “Have a conversation with Ginni Thomas. She refused to accept the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. Why? Because she didn’t like the outcome…Because the former twice-impeached so-called president of the United States of America lost legitimately to Joe Biden. How did she respond? Instead, she said the Biden’s should face a military tribunal in Guantanamo Bay on trumped-up charges of sedition. You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Sadly that wasn’t all. Last month, Jeffries defended an official claiming that black liberals can’t accept Thomas as black and a conservative. At the time, Mark Paoletta, a former Trump official, stated, “The black leadership pursues far-left policies that are not reflective of the views of most black Americans, like the NAACP opposing school choice. Perhaps the NAACP’s position is driven by all the money they get from the teachers union, which wants to protect mediocre teachers at the expense of children getting a good education. Shame on them. Rep. Thompson justified his ‘Uncle Tom’ racist slur by pointing to Justice Thomas’s views supporting voter ID laws and opposing affirmative action, but polling shows a majority of black Americans agree with Thomas. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s Rep. Thompson and the black leadership that are out of step with the views of most black Americans.”
