LEHI, UT – A fourth-grade teacher from Renaissance Academy out of Lehi was reportedly fired following the backlash that erupted due to her admitting on video – that reached a wider audience thanks to Libs of TikTok – to having discussions with students about being “queer.”

Jenna Hall is now officially a former fourth-grade teacher at Renaissance Academy following the highly controversial video she uploaded to her personal TikTok account where she delved into talking about being “queer” with her students while also boasting about an obscene manner some students were playing the game Guess Who in her classroom.

“My kids from last year are now in fifth grade, and they come visit me almost every day after school, and a lot of them are queer because I am queer – and they figured it out, and I’ve become their safe space. Today they found my Guess Who, and they started playing Guess Who – but they didn’t play it the normal way. How did they play it? They used things like, ‘This person looks like a lesbian baddie who is going to come over and make you dinner?’ Well, which one of these characters is a lesbian baddie that’s going to come over and make you dinner? Oh, Olivia is? Oh, great. Um, ‘Which character just looks gay?’ Well, meet Mike.”

Needless to say, the video that achieved a broader reach thanks to the Twitter account Libs of TikTok managed to stir up quite the controversy, initially resulting in Hall being placed on leave while school officials investigated the matter.

Mark Ursic, executive director of Renaissance Academy, noted in a statement at the time Hall was placed on leave that the offending video showed Hall describing “several inappropriate conversations with former students” and that “teachers are expected to comport themselves with the highest degree of professionalism.”

Ursic’s initial statement further added, “Behavior that is unprofessional, in violation of state code, or that violates the trust placed in us by the families of Renaissance Academy will not be tolerated.”

Come May 13th, Ursic confirmed in a follow-up statement that Hall is no longer employed with the school, saying school officials and Hall “mutually agreed” that her leaving is the best decision.

“Jenna Hall previously submitted her resignation for the 2022-2023 school year on April 19, 2022. Subsequent to the investigation earlier this week, we have mutually agreed to end our employment relationship for the current school year, effective immediately.”

While Ursic alleges that this was a decision that was “mutually agreed” upon, it’s more likely that Hall was outright told that her time was up at the school in light of the brazenly inappropriate discussions she admitted to holding with 10 and 11-year-old children in her classroom.
