SAN LORENZO, CA – A “Drag Queen Story Hour” grooming event was disrupted by a group of men in California on June 11th, with media outlets and local authorities saying this group is affiliated with the Proud Boys.
Additionally, these same media outlets are decrying the group of men who called out the grooming and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office claimed they’re investigating the incident as a “hate crime.”

The site of the grooming event was at the San Lorenzo Library, where a local drag queen who goes by the moniker “Panda Dulce” was participating in the event geared toward young children. He claimed in the midst of the event, a group of “Eight to ten Proud Boys marched in with their cameras blazing, point at me, jeering from the back.”
Based upon the alleged conduct of the men described by both Dulce and local media reports, the group didn’t do anything illegal – but simply voiced their displeasure with what was taking place at the library.
The drag queen proclaimed the group of men “said who brought the tranny. It’s a groomer. It’s a pedophile. Why do you bring your kids to this event,” while media reports allege the group “made white power hand gestures.”

ABC7 reporter Tim Johns had shared the above footage to Twitter that bore the blurring out of certain elements, writing, “We’ve blurred some of the video to hide white power signs & also offensive clothing. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident & has initiated their ‘hate crime protocol.’”
However, those “white power signs” that were blurred-out appear to have been instances where some of the men flashed the “okay” gesture briefly, which is not any sort of signal for “white power” but rather a hoax perpetuated by 4chan years back to trick the media into thinking it was some sort of a dog whistle.
As for the “offensive clothing” ABC7 opted to censor, it was a shirt that reads, “Kill Your Local Pedophile.”
However, there is no evidence of this group of men hurling any threats or engaging in any sort of violence – yet the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the matter as a “hate crime.”
In a press release from the sheriff’s office shared on Facebook, the sheriff’s office claimed the group of men “began to shout homophobic and transphobic slurs at the event organizer,” and were “described as extremely aggressive with a threatening violent demeanor causing people to fear for their safety.”
Obviously, no one was arrested because the group of men who arrived at the library seemingly did nothing illegal.
But the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office still claims that an “active hate crime investigation is underway as is an investigation into the annoying and harassing of children,” and that they’ll “make sure any future events at the library are safe against hate speech and threats of violence.”
Despite the mentioning of “hate speech” in the press release, it should be noted that law enforcement has zero lawful authority to take action over alleged “hate speech.”
