Back in 2017, NBA star LeBron James admitted that while he was taking part in the NBA Finals, a vandal approached his Brentwood, California, mansion and decided to spray paint the N-word on the front gate. While James owned the residence, he mostly resided at his home in Cleveland, Ohio. Still, before James or even the police arrived at the home, employees of the basketball star had removed the racist remark. Not physically being there, James tried to compare himself to the mother of Emmett Till, who was murdered at 14 years old for allegedly whistling at a white woman. Nevertheless, James Whitlock of the “Fearless” podcast exposed James for supposedly orchestrating the entire incident to promote himself. 

Appearing on Steve Bannon’s “The War Room,” Whitlock discussed James and how the event might have been faked to elevate his social justice warrior status. Not only discussing the ordeal with Bannon, but Whitlock also wrote, “James, in my opinion, was lying. The hate he whined about was a hoax intended to garner sympathy and elevate his brand as a social justice warrior. I believed that in 2017, and I believe it, even more today, analyzing his reaction to the murder of Ethan Liming in the parking lot of James’ celebrated, Akron, Ohio, I Promise School.”

Going back to the 2017 NBA Finals when the incident happened, James said, “It just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. And hate in America, especially for African-Americans, is living every day. And even though that it’s concealed most of the time, even though people hide their faces and will say things about you, and when they see you, they smile in your face. It’s alive every single day.”

The NBA star added, “I think back to Emmett Till’s mom, actually. It’s kind of one of the first things I thought of. The reason that she had an open casket is because she wanted to show the world what her son went through as far as a hate crime and being black in America. No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough.” 

Not just giving his opinion, Whitlock addressed the recent murder of a white 17-year-old honor-roll student by three men who were black. Once comparing himself to Till’s mom, James spoke of the recent tragedy, only writing, “Our condolences goes out to the family who lost a loved one!! My the heavens above watch over you during this tragedy! Pray for our community!”

Shocked by his grammar mistakes and lack of compassion, Whitlock added how the basketball player reacted to other murders. “LeBron wore a hoodie to protest the death of Trayvon Martin, a teenage boy in Sanford, Florida. LeBron ranted that black people are hunted every day after two white men shot Ahmaud Arbery. LeBron put a target on the back of a white Ohio police officer after he shot a teenage black girl who was attempting to stab a black woman.”
