NAPA COUNTY, CA – According to reports, Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is potentially facing jail time after having been officially charged with DUI causing injury regarding an arrest that transpired this past May.
Red Voice Media previously reported on the May 28th arrest of 82-year-old Pelosi, where only limited details were released at the time such as booking information and the offense Pelosi was booked under.
Napa County records show that Pelosi was arrested at approximately 11:44 p.m. on May 28th and booked into jail at approximately 4:13 a.m. on May 29th, where he was released roughly three hours later at 7:26 a.m., presumably after posting the $5,000 that his bail was set at following his arrest.
However, new information has come to light regarding the incident, and it turns out that not only was there a collision involving another vehicle – but the second driver involved was reportedly injured.
Pelosi’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of his arrest was reportedly 0.082, surpassing the legal limit of 0.08 when is comes to a DUI.
The second driver involved in the incident was described as a 48-year-old man driving a 2014 Jeep who told told police that he suffered injuries to his “arm, shoulder and neck” and “had trouble lifting things” following the crash, according to a report from TMZ.
What’s all the more interesting, Pelosi allegedly handed California Highway Patrol officers his 11-99 Foundation card when he was asked for identification at the scene of the accident. The 11-99 Foundation provides financial assistance and scholarships to California Highway Patrol officers and their families.
On June 23rd, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office noted that after reviewing the evidence of the case that due to “the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the District Attorney filed misdemeanor charges” against the House Speaker’s husband – which could see Pelosi doing a bit of jail time with a probation tail.
Per the Napa County DA’s release, a conviction of charges Pelosi is facing “includes up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines, and fees, completion of a court-ordered drinking driver class and other terms.”
Yet, despite some additional case details slowing seeping out, Fox News’s Jesse Watters claims that Pelosi is benefitting from “liberal privilege” in the sense that much of the information on this case – including police bodycam footage – is being withheld from the public.
“Have you ever seen so many people come together and cover up something that happened? Fancy Nancy wants this bottled up, The [New York] Times actually mentioning Mrs. Speaker of the House swung into full crisis mode as soon as she found out about the accident. She assembled a pricey defense team, hiring a crisis manager, a defense lawyer, and a PR exec.”
