Someone please explain to me, because I would like to understand. Seems to me like the problem lies with the lack of a limit on the amount a candidate can spend on their campaign. Everyone knows that whomever has the biggest coffer is the winner or clearly has a much better chance at winning. Why not have a cap on what candidates can spend? That would even the playing field before any of them ever spoke a word. Does my memory recall that a past president, maybe Slick Willie, Warbush, Jr., or O’Butthole, changed the rules or made a law that did away with the campaign spending limit?
