The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has decided that Hunter Biden must face a June trial in Delaware for his federal gun charges. This decision came after Biden sought to have his trial moved, citing concerns that the local media and political environment in Delaware could prejudice his case. The charges stem from an incident in 2018 where Biden purchased a firearm despite his self-admitted drug addiction at the time, a potential breach of federal law. Hunter Biden is charged with three felonies in connection with this incident.

The court dismissed Biden’s concerns about the media, stating, “The transfer of this case to another district would not materially alter the level of media attention it would receive,” pointing out that the widespread interest in his trial transcends regional boundaries. Hunter Biden has entered a plea of not guilty and intends to “vigorously contest” the charges, according to statements from his legal team.
