New York City has become a hotbed of criminal activity, with migrants allegedly targeting innocent citizens and wreaking havoc on the streets. In a recent raid conducted on Monday, law enforcement apprehended a group of migrants believed to be from Venezuela, responsible for stealing wallets and cellphones from at least 62 women. This shocking crime spree has left citizens in fear and law enforcement officials scrambling to put an end to the chaos.

The arrest took place at a safe house in the Bronx after authorities executed a search warrant. Among the suspects hauled away in handcuffs were Cleyber Andrade, aged 20, and Juan Uzcatgui, aged 23. Andrade faces a staggering 25 counts of grand larceny, while Uzcatugi is charged with 20 counts of grand larceny. Roxanna Sahos, aged 24, faces charges of tampering with evidence, and Alexander Dayker, aged 20, is accused of criminal possession of stolen property.

The audacity of these thieves knows no bounds. One particular incident involved a migrant on a moped, who callously dragged a 52-year-old woman along the streets of the Big Apple in an attempt to snatch her phone. This shocking robbery was captured on surveillance footage, leaving witnesses appalled by the brutality displayed.

The alleged leader of this merciless group has been identified as Victor Parra, a 30-year-old Venezuelan migrant. Known as the “big target,” Parra has caused significant problems in New York City, according to Officer Nicholas Fiore. Investigators revealed that Parra would recruit migrants through WhatsApp, instructing them to steal specific models of phones. Messages such as “I have money. I’m available. Go get them” fueled their devious exploits. Parra would then proceed to have a tech expert hack the stolen phones, using them for fraudulent purchases and emptying out the victims’ bank accounts before shipping them off to Colombia.

This criminal enterprise is highly organized and operates with precision. The scooter drivers responsible for the thefts receive $100 per day, while the phone snatchers are paid a staggering $300 to $600 per phone by the criminals behind the scenes. These individuals, predominantly residing in the migrant shelter system, form a sophisticated network of thieves who exploit the vulnerabilities of our society.

Mayor Eric Adams, despite his political affiliations, joined law enforcement officers in a daring sting operation. Sporting a $700 Fendi scarf beneath his bulletproof police vest, Adams made it clear that this issue transcends political divides. “This isn’t about the migrants and asylum seekers; this is about those who break the law. It doesn’t matter where you’re from and where you came from,” asserted the Democratic mayor.

Disturbingly, this is not the first time migrants have engaged in violent behavior. Just last month, a video emerged showing a group of migrants viciously assaulting two police officers in Times Square. Shockingly, a Manhattan judge released at least five of these asylum seekers without bail, highlighting a concerning trend of leniency towards criminal behavior.

The gravity of this situation cannot be underestimated. Some of the suspects have fled the city after being charged and released under fake identities provided to a migrant charity that facilitates their escape. Multiple migrants involved in the assault are also linked to a phone-snatching scheme, according to the New York Post, using the stolen proceeds to buy cars back in Ecuador and Venezuela. The lavish lifestyle they lead, complete with pools in their homes, is fueled by the stolen wealth sent back and forth across borders.

The influx of tens of thousands of migrants into New York City has overwhelmed its resources and stretched law enforcement to the limit. In 2023 alone, the city experienced the arrival of over 100,000 migrants in desperate need of accommodation and assistance. Rather than adequately addressing the root causes of this crisis, Mayor Adams, in a controversial move, announced a $53 million program to provide prepaid credit cards to migrant families with children. This shortsighted decision, which replaces meals with cash, has drawn outrage across the nation, including from native New Yorkers like rapper 50 Cent.

It is high time for our nation to address the escalating crime wave perpetrated by some migrants. We must prioritize the safety and security of our citizens, irrespective of political ideologies. By upholding the rule of law and protecting our communities from such rampant criminality, we can reclaim our cities and restore peace.
