Not only did the committee fail to accurately portray Ornato’s interview, but they also actively suppressed the transcript from public review. Additionally, committee allies resorted to publishing critical stories and even conspiracy theories about Ornato before subsequent interviews with him took place. Ornato, a career Secret Service official detailed to the White House security position, became a target of unwarranted scrutiny.
Cheney often refers skeptics to the Government Publishing Office website that allegedly contains transcripts, documents, exhibits, and their meticulously sourced 800+ page final report. However, less than half of the claimed 1,000 interview transcripts are posted on the site, leaving it unclear how many other hidden transcripts might contain exonerating information purposely concealed by the committee.

Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight, asserts that these documents support the committee’s narrative rather than the truth of the events leading up to January 6, 2021. He highlights how the former January 6 Committee hid critical witness testimony from Ornato to align with their pre-determined narrative. According to Loudermilk, the suppressed testimony proves that President Trump did, in fact, offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol, an offer that was turned down.
