Weissmann, displeased with the court’s decision, claimed that by granting the stay, the Supreme Court was essentially giving Trump de facto immunity. He expressed frustration, stating that it is now challenging to see how the DC case will proceed to trial before the upcoming election.

However, Weissmann’s claims are misleading. He falsely asserted that Trump was charged for “illegally staying in office.” In reality, Trump was hit with four counts in Jack Smith’s January 6 case: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

The left, led by Weissmann, has begun attacking the Supreme Court, accusing them of delaying the DC case. It is worth noting that Smith’s cases against Trump were brought years after the alleged crimes occurred, raising questions about the timing and motives behind these accusations.

Responsibility for the current situation lies partially with Joe Biden, who delayed the appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel. Additionally, Judge Tanya Chutkan took two months to respond to Trump’s immunity argument, further complicating the proceedings.

The Trump-hating left’s goal appears to be to tarnish the legacy of our former president. However, if Trump had truly committed these crimes, the charges would have been brought forward years ago instead of conveniently popping up during a crucial election period.
