Speaking with Donald Trump, Johnson stated that during his travels across the country, the American people continually express their concern about the need for election integrity measures. The House Speaker declared that House Republicans would act to ensure fair and free elections. Johnson emphasized that having fair and free elections was critical to the nation’s stability and highlighted that the legislation was for the people’s benefit.

CNN sources revealed that the meeting between Johnson and Trump was Johnson’s idea. The senior advisor to the former president informed CNN that Johnson and Trump would deliberate on state proposals and lawsuits that would allow non-citizens to vote.

To emphasize the legislation’s significance, Trump stated that he would push to close America’s border, citing the influx of millions of people and the reporting that goes unmentioned.
