In a shocking turn of events, an individual from Irondale, identified as Kyle Benjamin Douglas Calvert, has been charged with attempting to bomb the Alabama Attorney General’s Office building in Montgomery. Court records and social media profiles paint a troubling picture of Calvert as a far-left “antifascist” sympathizer who openly endorses violence against law enforcement and individuals with differing political views.

Charged with two felony counts of malicious damage by explosives and one count of possession of an unregistered destructive device, Calvert’s attempt was thwarted on February 24 at 3:42 a.m. when a device resembling a coffee container filled with insulation material, gasoline, or lighter fluid substance, a mortar, firecrackers, and nails was discovered outside the AG’s office in Montgomery. Fortunately, the device was safely detonated without any injuries.

Investigations further revealed that Calvert may have left a trail of evidence through stickers promoting radical ideologies in the vicinity of the attempted bombing site. Acting United States Attorney Jonathan Ross disclosed that the stickers bore messages supportive of various far-left, terrorist sympathies, including references to Antifa – a movement associated with anarchist violent extremists who propagate anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, and anti-government sentiments through violent means.
