In a horrifying incident that unfolded in Lake Worth, Florida, a 20-year-old illegal migrant has been apprehended for allegedly snatching an 11-year-old girl off the street near her home and subjecting her to a sexual assault.

According to the arrest report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, the suspect, Marvin Dionel Perez Lopez, forcefully grabbed the young girl by the hand and forced her into his van, where the assault took place.

The victim’s mother, in search of her missing daughter, spotted the van not far from their apartment building, located in the same neighborhood where both the victim and Lopez reside. Distressed, the mother immediately started banging on the van’s door and raised her voice to draw attention.

In a hasty attempt to escape, Lopez hastily exited the vehicle and ran away, as confirmed by Sheriff’s Deputies. The victim’s mother, determined to hold him accountable, proceeded to Lopez’s apartment and encountered his brother, who promptly contacted Lopez and urged him to return home before the situation escalated further.

The mother awaited Lopez’s return, listening to his pleas for forgiveness. However, the gravity of the situation left her with no choice but to contact law enforcement.

During the investigation, the victim disclosed to investigators that Lopez had forcibly assaulted her after she continuously resisted his advances, eventually escalating to rape.

On May 3, deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrived at Lopez’s apartment to question him. As they approached the door, they noticed Lopez making a quick exit through a rear window and fleeing into an adjacent alleyway. Despite an extensive search by multiple deputies and a K-9 unit, Lopez remained elusive. During subsequent inquiries, Lopez’s brother revealed that he fled due to the incident involving the young girl residing next door.

The sheriff’s office officially announced Lopez’s arrest the following day, disclosing that he is an ‘undocumented migrant’ from Guatemala. Shockingly, it was revealed that Lopez has a scheduled immigration court date set for 2027.
