Reports of the shooting at a shopping center on South Street just west of Paramount Boulevard prompted a swift response from officers at 11:15 p.m., as indicated by LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher.

A section of South Street spanning from Paramount to Ackerfield Avenue will remain closed in both directions for an extended period, as Gallagher confirmed in correspondence with the Long Beach Watchdog.

Of the wounded, three individuals independently made their way to a nearby hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, while those in more severe condition were attended to by Long Beach Fire Department personnel.
