The United States of America has been embroiled in an asymmetrical, irregular and undeclared war since no later than August 2019. The asymmetrical and irregular components of this undeclared war contain something called a fifth column: “any group of people who undermine a larger group or nation from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or another nation.”

Historically, the fifth column applied to Nazi supporters within foreign nations during World War II and in particular, it was a formidable component in the fall of France.
