The former governor’s lackluster performance resulted in zero wins across the early nominating states. Iowa saw her secure a distant third place, while in New Hampshire and her home state of South Carolina, she barely managed to snag second place. Even more embarrassingly, Haley found herself behind the “None of These Candidates” option in the Nevada primary, which held no significance in terms of delegates. Furthermore, the former governor suffered losses in the Michigan primary, as well as in Idaho and Missouri.

In a resounding blow, Trump overwhelmingly defeated Haley with an astounding 84.6% to 14.2% margin in the North Dakota caucus on Monday. And with his spectacular sweep of nearly all the Super Tuesday contests announced the next day, Trump’s dominance remained unquestionable. The only consolation for Haley came in the form of a slim victory in the reliably blue state of Vermont, where she secured a mere 49.9% compared to Trump’s 45.9%.

Despite her lagging poll numbers and a string of defeats, Haley stubbornly clung to her campaign, claiming to provide Republican primary voters an alternative option to Trump.

However, the RealClearPolitics (RCP) average for the 2024 national Republican primary, based on polls conducted between Feb. 13 and Feb. 28, made it evident that Trump held an unassailable lead of 63 points over Haley.

Haley’s campaign revolved primarily around economic and foreign policy, proudly showcasing her records as South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador under the Trump administration. Surprisingly, her bid attracted a considerable number of liberal voters and Democratic donors who sought an alternative to both Trump and Biden.
